Revenue Cycle Specialist (INTERNAL)

Position Overview

The Revenue Cycle Specialist plays a critical role in hospital billing operations while providing comprehensive training and process management across Revenue Cycle functions. This position supports all service teams and vendors working with Shore Medical Center to ensure efficient revenue cycle operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive training materials for new staff
• Maintain educational resources for registration, admissions, billing, and insurance verification personnel
• Create and manage training competencies for Patient Financial Services and Access Management departments
• Conduct competency reviews to ensure staff receive proper training and support
• Provide system-specific training on Cerner, AS400, Teletracking, Passport, Finthrive, Flywire, and other revenue cycle platforms
• Collaborate with department management to coordinate education programs
• Develop customized training schedules based on new hire skill assessment
• Communicate updates and procedural changes through various channels
• Maintain departmental policies and procedures related to registration, scheduling, and billing
• Support IT and management during system testing and redesign initiatives
• Liaise with all hospital registration areas regarding updates and changes
• Partner with Centralized and OR scheduling to review training materials
• Investigate rejected claims to identify information gaps
• Monitor and reduce duplicate patient records and encounters
• Support all billing functions as needed

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent work experience
• 2-4 years of relevant experience
• Demonstrated proficiency with Cerner Registration systems
• Experience with AS400 Accounts Receivable
• Strong decision-making, multi-tasking, and organizational skills with high attention to detail

Preferred Qualification

• Associate's Degree
